One pear-cut amethyst set in a full bezel of 14K yellow gold. Pear is a teardrop — round at one end, tapering to a point at the other — and because it hangs point-up from the bail the widest part of the stone sits lowest, which is what makes a pear read as falling rather than just hanging. Amethyst's purple runs deeper at the broad end where the stone has more depth for light to travel through. 19.00 mm overall drop, 6.00 mm across, 0.7 grams.

Which length should I choose?
Sixteen inches sits at the base of the neck, eighteen just below the collarbone — the most versatile length — and twenty inches and above sit on the chest. If you intend to layer, choose lengths at least four inches apart so the pieces do not land on top of one another.
