How a stone is held decides how it lives on your hand.

A setting is not decoration. It decides how much light reaches the stone, how high the piece sits, how often it catches on a sleeve, and how it will look after ten years of being worn rather than admired. Below is what each of the six settings you will find at Sana Jewels is genuinely good at — and what you give up to get it.

Solitaire

One stone and nothing else competing for attention. The setting has very little to hide behind, which is exactly why cut matters more here than anywhere else. Sits high, reads clean, and rarely dates.

Halo

A ring of small stones encircling a larger one. It makes the center read meaningfully bigger and scatters light at the edges, which makes it the most efficient way to buy visual size. The trade is more metal and more surfaces to keep clean.

Pavé

From the French for cobblestone — small diamonds set so closely that the metal beneath all but disappears. Brilliant in real light and notoriously hard to photograph; in person it usually does more than the picture suggests.

Three-Stone

Three stones side by side, traditionally read as past, present and future. Practically, it buys you width across the finger without the height of one large stone — flattering on shorter fingers and considerably easier to live with day to day.

Bezel

A continuous rim of metal wrapped around the stone. The most secure setting there is, and the one we would point anyone toward who works with their hands or has ever caught a prong on a scarf. Slightly less light gets in. Considerably less worry.

Prong

Fine metal claws lift the stone clear of the band so light can enter from every side. The classic, and still the brightest. Worth having a local jeweler check the prongs once a year — they are the part that wears first, and tightening them is quick work.
