Mariner links take their shape from anchor chain: an oval with a bar struck across the middle. The bar is structural, not decorative — it stops the link deforming and stops the chain rolling, which is why a mariner lies flat against the ankle bone where a round-link chain would turn edgewise. At 1.70 mm it is fine without being fragile. Solid 14K yellow gold, closed with a lobster clasp.

How do I choose the right size?
Measure snugly around the wrist or ankle just below the bone, then add half an inch for a piece that moves comfortably or three quarters of an inch if you prefer one that slides.
