Each station is a diamond-shaped filigree: a lozenge outline with gold worked in curling openwork inside it, so light passes through the panel rather than bouncing off it. Filigree is one of the older techniques in goldsmithing and it behaves differently from stamped metal — the negative space is as much a part of the design as the gold. How do I choose the right size?
Measure snugly around the wrist or ankle just below the bone, then add half an inch for a piece that moves comfortably or three quarters of an inch if you prefer one that slides.
