The motif is old and the same everywhere it appears: an eye that looks back at whatever is looking at you. Here it is set in mother of pearl, so the white of the eye has the shifting iridescence of shell rather than the flatness of enamel, and it changes tone as the light moves. Which length should I choose?

Sixteen inches sits at the base of the neck, eighteen just below the collarbone — the most versatile length — and twenty inches and above sit on the chest. If you intend to layer, choose lengths at least four inches apart so the pieces do not land on top of one another.
