Note first that the diamonds here are shapes, not stones — this is a solid gold bangle with no gemstones in it. The face is sandblasted to a fine matte grain, and across that ground run polished ribbons of gold that cross into diamond shaped panels. The contrast is the whole design: matte holds light evenly and reads almost soft, while the polished lines throw it back sharply, so the pattern stays visible under any lighting rather than flattening out.
